CLASS CARDS

Before the game begins, every player gets to draw a class card.

Every class has a special ability, that can be used once during the game.
For example: the rogue can sneak past a monster and doesn't have to fight it.

The classes also get a proficiency bonus on a specific skill.

  • Fighter and Monk = bonus for strength trial

  • Rogue and Ranger = bonus for acrobatic trial

  • Cleric and Mage = bonus for wisdom trial

TRIAL CARDS

Each player has to draw an event card at the beginning of their turn.

This could turn out to be a monster or trial card.

Every trial card has a number on the bottom left, which stands for its difficulty class (DC).

To determine whether the player beats a DC, they need to roll equal to or higher than said DC.

If they beat the DC they can move on and claim their treasure cards.

However, if they didn't, they can choose between rolling again but losing one life point or drawing another card.

If they drew a new card they now HAVE to try to beat the DC until they either lost all of their life points or rolled high enough.

MONSTER CARDS

Each player has to draw an event card at the beginning of their turn.

This could turn out to be a monster or trial card.

When fighting against a monster, the player has to beat the cards DC in order to deal damage.
The monster loses 1 life every time the player beats its DC.

One of the player's opponents takes over the role of the monster.
The monster and player take turns in rolling against each other DC, trying to reduce as much health as possible until one of them runs out of life.

If the player won the battle, they can move on and claim their treasure cards.
However, if things don't go too well, the player can ask another player for help. or they can try to flee.

In order to flee, they have to beat a DC of 15.

TREASURE CARDS

Treasure cards can be played whenever, no matter who turns it is, and can be used however the players want to use them.

These cards have to be discarded after using them.

The maximum amount of cards a player can hold is 5.

A player can choose which cards to keep if they collect more than the max amount.

If a player loses all of their life, their treasure cards get mixed back into the deck.
